Nonetheless, our love for traditional soft drinks is not
diminishing, of course. After all, cola and fruit-flavoured
carbonates still account for 57% of soft drinks sales
through foodservice.21 What is changing, however, is
growing demand for flavour twists on the classics,
particularly from younger drinkers.
Fresh for this year are Pepsi zero sugar colas in
Strawberries ‘N’ Cream and Cream Soda flavours,
inspired by the fact that flavoured cola is growing three
times faster than unflavoured cola.25 Tango, meanwhile,
has unveiled Strawberry Smash, a sugar-free blend of
strawberry and pineapple with Tango’s signature tang.
For example, the Pepsi MAX® Flavours range –
comprising core lines Cherry, Lime and Mango and
regularly boosted by exciting limited-edition flavours
such as last year’s Pepsi Electric – has grown by 8.7%
in the past year.22 Tango Mango was the number one
flavoured carbonates launch in 2024 and delivered
growth worth £12.7m,23 building on the success of
previous Tango flavour editions, Paradise Punch and
Berry Peachy.24
