SOFT DRINKS
STEP UP
Overall sales of soft drinks through
foodservice grew by 2% to just
under £2.8bn in 2024.4 In line with
wider trends in the out-of-home
market, volumes declined by 6%.4
Cola remains the most bought soft
drink in foodservice – accounting for
35.9% of market value and 40.8% of
volume4 – followed by fruit flavoured
carbonates4 and dairy drinks.4
Growth is partly down to inflation,
with average prices having risen
by 8.5%.4 However, that’s not the
whole story: with the rate of inflation
slowing in the past year5 and growing
numbers of people looking to treat
themselves with better quality food
and drink when they visit foodservice
outlets.6 More people are valuing
quality over quantity.
This presents foodservice operators
with the opportunity to drive further
growth with elevated drinks. The
London Essence Company’s premium
mixers and crafted sodas, Pepsi
MAX®’s flavoured colas, J2O’s juice
blends and Aqua Libra’s natural still,
sparking and flavoured waters can all
add a sense of discovery and pizzazz
to drinks menus and drive growth.
