DRINKS TECH
AND THE WORKPLACE
Growing demand for premium food and drink that delivers
health benefits is chiefly down to a rise in affluent
consumers spending more time at work in London
and other city centres.16 But it’s not just coffee shops,
restaurants and food-to-go outlets that are catering for
this crowd. As we’ve seen, employers are also stepping up
their provision of food and drink at workplaces, driving a
6.2% increase in 2024.17
Workplace catering is forecast to continue to grow as
employers compete harder to attract and retain talent. The
sector is expected to grow by £600m or 19%,17 realising
a compound average growth rate of 3.5%, between 2024
and 2029,17 with growth of £190m (5.9%) expected over
the course of 2025 alone.17 Soft drinks are expected to
deliver £57m growth for workplace caterers in 2024 and
2025 combined.17
But with hybrid working continuing,18 technology is
expected to play a greater role in the serving of food and
drink in workplace environments.17 Vending solutions and
micro markets – 24-hour food and beverage stations with
built-in chillers, microwaves, fast-cook machines and drinks
dispense systems such as the Aqua Libra Flavour Tap (see
below) – offering options comparable to those on the high
street will continue to grow.17
