Meal deals are helping to drive sales throughout the day for
savvy foodservice operators. KFC, for example, has helped
raise fast food’s share of on-the-go lunch occasions from
27% in 202320 to 28.6% in 202420 with its £5.49 lunch meal
deals, comprising a wrap, Doritos and a fizzy drink. Bella
Italia has had similar success with its £7.99 pizza or pasta
plus drink lunch deals.20

There are more opportunities to drive growth by bundling
drinks and snacks at different times of the day. Linking
Jimmy’s Iced Coffee and pastries or Plenish health shots
with coffee can attract the morning crowds on their way
into the office, while pairing Purdey’s Natural Energy or
Aqua Libra infused water with healthy snacks will appeal to
those en route to the gym.
